Sinclair Research ZX81 in Whiz Kids - Episode 11, "Watch Out!" (1984)

After their normal computer, RALF, is stolen by Krebbs, the gang are reduced to using a lowly ZX81 to prove the TV rating are being fixed.

I remember reading back in 1984 how the kid playing the lead couldn't really type and just faked it for the show.

Due to the nature of the membrane keyboard and its size, it is not possible to type so quickly on the ZX81. Because it has a membrane keyboard you wouldn't hear the sound of keys being tapped like you would from a typical QWERTY keyboard. The font you see onscreen is not a ZX81 font.
