A Commodore 64 appears at the salon and Rochelle is expected to learn how to use it. Eventually she takes computer classes (where more C64s appear)
The C64 looks like it has an 80-column display of which it was not capable.

Maybe it had the Batteries Included BI-80 card like ours did for an 80 column composite monochrome display.

"....which is not capable" Some softwares used 8x4 pixels chars to turn the c64's 40x25 chars display to a 80x25 chars display (using the 320x200 pixels monochrome framebuffer)...

Mirage Word Processor uses an Emulated 80 columns display as well as Novaterm and others, using the 4x8 pixel method.
