One of Milo's friends at the start-up, Skullbocks, used his Powerbook G3 to monitor their web site's performance and to view a video news feed.
It looks like the G3 is running Linux.

Milo is a bright young programmer who is lurked away from the start-up company he has formed with his friends to join NURV, a software giant run by charismatic CEO Gary Winston, to work on their flagship product. When one of his friends is killed Milo begins to suspect that NURV may be involved.
