If I recall correctly, Eddie Shoestring had previously worked as a computer engineer and in at least one episode visited Debenham's (I think) 2900 computer centre in Taunton, where he once worked. He supposedly gave up the job because the noise of the high-speed chain printers caused him mental problems.
