- Dance Me to My Song has an Epson HX-20 in a vital role, whereas it is just bit parts for the Apple Clamshell iBook G3 in Coyote Ugly and the IBM PC XT and Apple IIe in Poltergeist III. This will be the only update this month as I'm about to go on holiday.

The IBM System/360 in The Brain Machine has an equally important role. There is a Commodore 64C in Adventures in Babysitting and an HP Vectra in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. And then there are the inevitable Apples: a Power Mac G4 Cube and an iMac G3 in About A Boy and a Powerbook G4 in Uptown Girls

- The Tandy 1000HX makes its first appearance on Starring the Computer in the film FX/2.

- There's an Atari 800 in the David Cronenberg movie Videodrome.

- U.S. Marshals is littered with Apples and IBMs. Two Power Macintoshes make their debut: the 4400 and 6400. Also appearing are the Apple Powerbook 3400, Power Macintosh 7200, IBM AS/400 and panels from the AN/FSQ-7.

- The DEC PDP-9 has its Starring-the-Computer debut in The Dish where it plays a small but important role.

- First update in over a month, with hopefully more to come soon. The snappily titled The Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.: The Fifteen Years Later Affair has a brief appearance for a rather fetching polished silver Commodore PET 2001.
- 2012-10-17 21:14 Starring the Computer gets Wired
- Along with Mike Loewen's site on the AN/FSQ-7, Starring the Computer gets a mention in The Most Wonderfully Ridiculous Movie Computers of All Time on Wired. Unfortunately, I'm in the middle of moving house at the moment so I've no time to be doing updates to the site. So, all you Wired readers, welcome and stick around: there will be plenty of updates in weeks to come!

- Another couple of appearances from two aged computers have been added - an IBM AN/FSQ-7 in Sliders (Season 3, Episode 3) and a Honeywell H200 in Sweet, Sweet Rachel.

- The Atari 600XL in D.A.R.Y.L. has been in the database for ages, but I've just added a few more computers that appear in the film, including Apple IIes, Tektronix 4051s and, making its debut, a DEC VAX 11/750.

- No updates for ages, sorry! I've been spending some time rewriting the code for the web site. No particularly visible changes yet, but more to come hopefully. Anyway, here's the latest batch of Apple Computer appearances: RocknRolla, The Mechanic, Scooby-Doo! The Mystery Begins, Sleeping Beauty, The Descendants, Kick-Ass, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (which also debuts a Dell PowerEdge 2650), and Wind (which also has a HELP[windmac, Mac-like] machine and a HELP[windlap, laptop] that I've not been able to identify).

- Thanks to Glenn for the tip-off on this one. The 1970s TV series Search has regular appearances for Burroughs B205 tape drives as well as a Starring-the-Computer newcomer: the Burroughs B220.

- The Italian film Fango bollente has plenty of nice close-up shots of an IBM System/370.

- Iron Man has old and new to offer, with an Apple II and, a first for Starring the Computer, a Dell XPS M2010.

- As well as an IBM PS/2, Philadelphia has a Starring-the-Computer first, an IBM Thinkpad 700, and a HELP[philadelphia, machine I've not yet identified]. Do you know what it is?

- Commodore 64s appear in The Hugga Bunch and the Remington Steele episode Sting of Steele. There's a Commodore 128 in Like Father Like Son, an Amiga 2000 in Finders Keepers, an Amiga 500 in Metamorphosis: The Alien Factor and both a 500, a 2000 and an interloping Atari ST in Bodo - Eine ganz normale Familie.
